Hello, Rust.
Your first steps into a language that helps you build with confidence. No experience required.
How to study this chapter
Read the explanation, follow the diagram, then predict what the example will do. Attempt each “Try it yourself” exercise before opening its worked solution. Change one input and explain the result in your own words.
Standalone examples work in a local Cargo project or the Rust Playground. IDE setup, external crates, operating-system integration, and specialist tools require the local workflow described in the lesson. A small executable model illustrates a mechanism; it does not replace testing the real system.
The chapter project at the end runs real Rust through the official Playground. Your code and project completion are saved in this browser. Completing it records practice, not mastery; keep a local project for your own experiments.
